We have targeted 10 communities in the West Midlands  as the focus of this project as we believe this will give us an excellent cross section of the diversity in the region. It is not our intention to exclude any groups from this report so we have based our selection process on data from the National Statistics  office.

Ideally we would have liked to target an individual community in each of the 12 areas that make up the West Midlands  region, but inevitably, the greater concentrations of ethnically diverse communities are in the larger cities.

The 10 communities are:
